I’ve listened to West Coast rap for over 15 years. I mowed lawns one long ago summer so I could purchase DJ Quik’s Way 2 Fonky and a CD Player, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Although I’m from Oregon, my knowledge and depth on the subject is immense. I own a huge collection of West Coast CD’s and have a ridiculous amount of rare mp3s.
This site is my way to offer personal commentary, highlight up and coming artists, and basically post whatever I see fit. If you don’t like it, in the words of the late great Eazy-E: Fuck with me I’ll put a foot in your ass (metaphorically of course)
What does Lyay stand for?
A play on words, Lyay takes the “L” from Los Angeles and “yay” from Bay area slang and combines the two.
What regions does LYay cover? If you want to hear East Coast or Dirty South Records, just turn on the radio.
