The promotions for the upcoming Dre headphones are gaining speed, and we’re seeing Dre partially shed his hermit status and talk to the press. Dre gave a short interview to USA Today and they had two articles on the good Doctor in yesterday’s edition.

One article was about the Beats By Dr. Dre headphones coming out on Friday July 25th, the other was on Detox. The Detox article was fairly simple and talked about how much people were expecting the album. There was one tasty morsel of information however which I’ve included below. Dre talked about a potential release date for the album:

“I’m just now - over the last couple of months - starting to feel that it’s going to be right and it’s something I can be proud of, and everybody is going to love it,” says Dr. Dre (aka Andre Young). “In a perfect world, I’m shooting for a November or December release.”

Although we’ve heard potential release dates before, I think this time it MIGHT be different. USA Today is the largest newspaper in the nation and putting a release date in its pages carries a certain amount of weight. I still have my doubts, but at least Dre is putting out a general time for fans to expect the album. Hopefully in about three months I’ll have a post titled “The Detox Single is here” but who knows. Oh and I hope the Lil Wayne feature gets put in a dark dark corner and never mentioned again.
