LAX Details - Should Fans Be Worried?

So The Game put out a press release yesterday talking about his upcoming album. The release talked about several tracks and fans can start to get a picture of how the album is shaping up. At first glance, it seems like The Game has gone RnB overload, but I don’t think thats the case at all. I’ve listed the main producers on the album below and done a little writing on what I think the tracks will sound like.

J.R. Rotem Productions:
State of Emergency ft Ice Cube
A Thug and a Gentleman ft Ne-Yo

I’m gonna catch hell for this, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of California Vacation. Sure it sounded great in principle, but the outcome wasn’t as good as it should have been. J.R. Rotem sounded like he was doing his best Dre impression. I would have rather him do his own style. Snoop still brought it though. For Games album I’m expecting some tight beats because J.R. Rotem has been on fire lately That Bun B single was superb and that Clyde Carson single Doin That should have been a Top 10 hit. I’m excited to hear the Ice Cube track. Lets hope its not a Cali Vacation repeat.

Cool & Dre Productions:
My Life ft Lil Wayne
Camera Phone ft Ne-Yo
Big Dreams (?)

Cool & Dre have supplied Game with many hot beats before. I’ve loved both Hate it or Love it and Big Dreams. Didn’t they also do that bonus track from the Doctors Advocate called I’m Chillin? I liked that track too. Although Cool & Dre can be hit or miss with other artists, they’ve consistently brought The Game excellent beats. This should be no exception

Scott Storch Productions:
Let Us Live ft Chrissette Michelle
Put Ya Hands Up ft Busta Rhymes

Scott Storch brought two amazing beats to The Doctors Advocate. Too Much still sounds superb and even though some people didn’t like Lets Ride, I always thought it sounded tight. I’m excited to see Busta and Game on what should be a hype party track. On the first two albums Busta was on some laid back, introspective tracks, but judging from the title: Put Ya Hands Up this track should be a party type heater.

Nottz Productions:
Ya Heard ft Ludacris
Cali Sunshine ft Bilal

I liked Nottz contribution to The Doctors Advocate. It was a nice track and Game dropped some nice verses. I’ve gotta admit I dig Nottz up tempo tracks a bit more than his introspective ones. Hopefully his tracks on Doctors advocate sound more like WC’s Jack & The Bean Stalk rather than Snoop’s Deez Hollywood Nights.

People got all bitchy when they hear Ne-Yo and other RnB artists were gonna be featured on the album. The obvious reaction is to think that that the tracks would be overly soft and RnB sounding. I have a feeling the initial reaction is wrong and that Ne-Yo is going to be singing hooks to Game tracks, not trying to make Ne-Yo songs. We’ll see, but I’m hyped up for the album.
