With Snoop’s new Ego Trippin’ dropping in 11 days, the UMG machine is in full force promoting the album. They recently put up a nice little article covering Snoop’s top 10 pimpest moments. It’s a nice little list. I posted up a snippet, but be sure to follow the link to peep the whole thing. It’s a great read with a lot of nice content. On a side note, is anybody else REALLY looking forward to Snoop’s new album? I have a feeling it’s going to be once of his strongest. That Sexual Eruption is a hit and artists from all over are biting Snoop’s steeze trying to use his formula on their new tracks. I hope the album doesn’t have too much filler!

Snoop Dogg is many things - a worldwide hip-hop superstar, a multimedia entrepreneur, a responsible father - but above all, he is a pimp. Now I’m not saying he’s out on the street corner peddling hussies to greasy johns, fore the Doggfather is well above that narrow definition of “pimp”. Even a cursory look at his prestigous career as an all-around-Boss-of-everything-he-does will teach you a thing or two about what it means to be “Pimpin’”.

10 - Hot “Doggs”
True pimps know how to diversify. Snoop went beyond liquor, cars or pet accessories (been there, done that, and that) and straight to hot dogs. Whether or not you can find the foot-long Snoop Doggs, packaged specially in rapper wrappers, go ahead and try to launch your own food brand. I dare you. “Imagine a long, skinny hot dog just like Snoop,” his brother and manager said to the Boston Herald. “There aren’t any celebrity hot dogs out there. Who’s the competition? Ball Park?”

9 - Using that “Clucking” Sound in a Song
Clucking is for pimps. Only a masterful pimp such as Snoop can get you hooked on his song just clucking at you. He’s been refining his cluck on the streets of Long Beach for many years, only to unveil it to the masses in the 2004 song, “Drop it Like it’s Hot.” Props to Pharrell for bringing the cluck out in the mix.

8 - Being the Greatest Pimp Thespian in History: “Snoop-a-Loop” to Huggy Bear
Sometimes an actor and a role are just made for each other, like Snoop as ol’ school pimp Huggy Bear in Starsky and Hutch. “I found your 9 iron b*tch!”
Also, let us not forget his cameos in such classics as Old School, Half Baked and Soul Plane.
